Former ustazah claims trial to severely hurting fellow teacher in fight


MELAKA: A former ustazah claimed trial at the Magistrate's Court here to a charge of causing severe injuries to another female teacher at a religious school after accusing the victim of going out with a man.

The plea of Nurul Hidayah Khairuddin, 24, was recorded before Magistrate Mazana Sinin on Tuesday (Jan 31).

Based on the charge sheet, the accused had inflicted serious injuries on Nurul Nadirah Ahmad Ropie, 24, following an argument.

The offence was allegedly committed at Class 2/Omar at Melaka Religious Department (JAIM) Primary School in the Melaka Tengah district at 2.40pm on Sept 28, 2022.

The charge, framed under Section 325 of the Penal Code and read together with Section 34 of the same law, provides for a jail sentence of up to seven years and a fine, if found guilty.

The fight between the two was triggered after one of them accused the other of going out with a man and complained about the matter to the headmaster.

The accused was represented by counsel Mohd Fahmy Mohd Sulaiman.

The court was also told that the accused was also terminated from her service following the incident.

The court granted a bail of RM3,000 to the accused and fixed March 13 as the next mention date.
